lites.asia held its first information exchange event in Beijing on 22 and 23 June 2010.
This meeting created the foundation for future meetings by bringing all regional stakeholders up to date with:
- Current and developing standards for lighting, and the standards development process, in each of the participating Asia countries.
- Current developing standards for lighting, and the standards development process, in the IEC.
- Issues with current standards which are creating barriers to Policy Makers in the effective regulation of the market.
- The aims, objectives and future plans of lites.asia.

The event was specifically timed to enable lighting stakeholders to attend both this event and the “International Conference on the Phase-Out of Inefficient Lighting” in Beijing on 24-25 June.
